(CNN) - U.S. Senator Pat Toomey is endorsing Mitt Romney for the GOP presidential nomination.
The Republican from Pennsylvania made the announcement Tuesday, shortly after former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum dropped out of the race.
Toomey says Romney will make a great president and return the nation to conservative principles.
But he also congratulated Santorum, saying he put up a great fight and deserves to be commended.
Pennsylvania holds its primary in two weeks, on April 24th.
