JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - In a time when every dollar counts, Missouri is about to spend a lot of money on a presidential primary that won't count for much.

It will cost about $7 million to put on Tuesday's presidential primary in Missouri, a vote that amounts to a glorified opinion poll because no delegates to the Republican National Convention will be awarded.

Newt Gingrich isn't on the ballot. Voters will be able to choose from Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul alongside campaign dropouts Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain and Jon Huntsman.

A series of political squabbles rendered the state's Republican vote merely symbolic, and the GOP says it's looking to caucuses in March to award the state's 52 delegates.

Polls open at 6 a.m., and close at 7 p.m.
