PLATTE CITY, Mo. (AP) - Platte City authorities have released the name of a man who died after setting fire to several vehicles.

Twenty-year-old Curtis J. Durbin of Platte City was identified Monday as the man whose body was found Friday in a truck that didn't belong to him.

The Kansas City Star reported that authorities said he died from smoke inhalation accompanied by high levels of carbon monoxide.

Durbin was charged in January with one count of second-degree burglary. He was accused of breaking into a residence in Platte County in October and stealing a television, a video game system, a shotgun and other items.

His attorney, Michael Accusco, described Durbin as a "troubled young man who seemed to be trying to overcome life's struggles."
