St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A St. Charles County man admitted in federal court Monday to owning and selling human growth hormone drugs, the U.S. Attorney's Office said on Monday.
Keith Ashabranner, a 32-year-old body builder from O'Fallon, Missouri, was a fixture at gyms around the St. Charles area.
Ashabranner, along with co-defendant Gregory Loomans, 40, purchased more than $32,000 of steroids from China, keeping a portion of the drugs for themselves while selling the rest to body builders across Missouri. Ashabranner made more than $30,000 peddling the Chinese drugs.
Loomans pleaded guilty last December for his role in the scheme.
Sentencing for Ashabranner will be held on May 4. The charges carry a penalty of up to five years and prison and fines up to $250,000.
