St. Louis (KSDK) - Red line MetroLink passengers should allow extra time for their night commutes through Thursday.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Monday night, rail grinding work will be done on tracks between the Wellston and Forest Park stations. Trains will run on a single track at the Delmar and Forest Park stations. Both red line and blue line passengers may experience five minute delays.

The work will begin at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. On these days the grinding work will be done on tracks between the Wellston and North Hanley stations. Most trains will operate on a single track at the Wellston, Rock Road, UMSL South, UMSL North, and North Hanley stations.

From 8 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday several trains will stop at the Wellston station and passengers will need to board a MetroBus shuttle to be transported to the Rock Road, UMSL South, UMSL North, and North Hanley stations.

Westbound passengers arriving at the North Hanley station can board a westbound train to continue their commutes.
