Sanford, FL (WFTV/CNN) - Two Central Florida CVS stores and drug wholesaler Cardinal Health are at the center of a federal investigation.
The pharmacies are accused of distributing too many painkillers.
Investigators suspect pharmacists filled bogus prescriptions for drugs like oxycodone.
The Drug Enforcement Administration says the pharmacies ordered 20 times the national average of oxycodone pills.
Right now, the stores cannot fill prescriptions for drugs such as oxycodone.
CVS denies any wrong-doing.
Cardinal Health is challenging the suspension of its license in court.
