Chesterfield, MO (KSDK) - The Chesterfield City Council approved a new gun law Monday night.
The ordinance makes it illegal to fire any kind of gun within 150 yards of a home.
The bill was proposed after complaints from neighbors about a Chesterfield man who was shooting squirrels.
The council deleted a clause which would allow gun use to protect crops or other property.
Opponents believe the ordinance would violate the Missouri Constitution.
