LET'S BOWL TO END BREAST CANCER FOREVER!

THIRD ANNUAL SPARE NOTHING FOR THE CURE IS OCTOBER 23

Family-Friendly Fundraiser Benefits St. Louis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

Help fight breast cancer with a bowling ball and ten pins. Participate in the third annual Spare Nothing for the Cure, presented by Saint Louis Bread Co., on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011. This family-friendly bowling event benefits the St. Louis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

Bowlers choose from two locations: Tropicana Lanes in Richmond Heights, Mo., and Camelot Bowl in Collinsville, Ill. Each bowling alley features three sessions: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 2-4 p.m., and 5-7 p.m.

The entry fee is $25 per bowler or $150 per team of six bowlers. Each registration includes two hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental and an official event T-shirt. Plus, participants enjoy the opportunity to bid on raffle baskets and win door prizes.

Those who cannot attend but want to participate can register as a Phantom Bowler for an entry fee of $35, and the T-shirt will be mailed after the event.

In 2010, more than 500 bowlers helped raise over $26,000 for the fight against breast cancer. These funds directly impact the breast health needs of the local community. Up to 75 percent of the net money raised by the Komen St. Louis Affiliate stays in the St. Louis area to fund screening, treatment, education and research programs. A minimum of 25 percent of money raised goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Research and Awards Program®.

Join in the fight against breast cancer by bowling on Oct. 23. Visit www.komenstlouis.org to register and select a bowling location and session for the 2011 Spare Nothing for the Cure.

About Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and the Komen St. Louis Affiliate

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. The St. Louis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local community. They join more than a million breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through events like the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure®, the St. Louis Affiliate has invested more than $16 million in community breast health programs in 17 counties in Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stays in the St. Louis metropolitan area. The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research. For more information, call 314-569-3900 or visit www.komenstlouis.org.
