KSDK -- St. Louisans can keep an eye on people who are on probation and defendants who are out on bond.
People will be able to use the new feature on the St. Louis City Circuit Clerk's web site to search their neighborhood and see who has been ordered to stay away from locations near their address. They will also have access to that person's probation officer's name and phone number.
Those who violate their probation or a bond's condition of release will run the risk of being arrested because people will be able to call the police or the listed probation officer.
Since this feature is the first in Missouri and perhaps the first in the nation, there will be a live demonstration in the coming days to further explain how it works. The exact date has not been given.
Sgt. John McLaughlin of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department will be present, as well as representatives of Missouri's Office of Probation and Parole.
